GOING FASTER and going harder is not necessarily the same thing. In order to get the most out of our aerobic capacity we need an efficient technique. Technique is the one thing that can be improved whatever our age, especially as we get older and trying to increase strength and fitness seems like a losing battle. A solid technique will give you a relaxed yet stable body position, allowing you to use your core to generate more power in your weight shift, resulting in improved glide, efficiency and performance.

THE CLINIC is designed for those who have a basic understanding of skating technique and want to improve at their favorite race. Focus will be on gaining efficiency by improving technique and having fun doing it. We will start by making sure everyone has a clear understanding of different techniques and terminologies and discuss how they apply to skate movement and efficiency. Then we will head to the trails to learn and practice these techniques using drills, video and group skiing.

LODGING will be right on the trails of ABR at the Hilltop House so some accommodations will be shared. We will also meet here for breakfast, lunch and video analysis.

COST is $225.00 and includes: Lodging Friday night thru Sunday afternoon, breakfast both days, lunch on Saturday, instruction and video analysis.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Ken Hazel is a ski bum turned instructor who lives and breathes ski technique. Besides a PSIA-certified instructor, he is a veteran citizen racer with twenty-two years experience, that includes seminars, clinics, and coaching by some of the best skiers and coaches in the US and Canada. He has also spent endless hours analyzing World Cup video frame-by-frame in pursuit of efficient technique. Ken remains an accomplished Masters skier with several top-200 Birkie finishes.
